Rochester Museum & Science Center

The Water Shed demonstration taught students about pollutants that end up in our water system. The students were able to use a computer program to zero in on different sites in and around Rochester that show the Water Shed and how it can be affected by run off, fertilizers, and even the soap from washing your car. They learned different ways to filter the waste water and what types of pollutants should be disposed of properly.

We were busy group microinvertebrates into low, medium, and high levels of pollutants.

Microinvertebrates: Just think ... they are swimming in our water.

Students are getting a hands on demonstration of how rain and run off effect the pollutants that are visible in yards, streets and parking lots.
